Trekkers can get a flight from Kathmandu or can ride by bus to reach there. This trek typically takes 13-15 days to complete depending on the chosen route and trekker’s pace. It covers around 112 km and ends at the same starting point. This trek offeres mixed terrains including forest trails,, rugged paths, alpine trails and stony plats. Through the trails, trekkers will be accompanied by stunning views of high mountain ranges. Trekking through Sherpa villages, lush forests, and across suspension bridges, trekkers will experience both the beauty of the landscapes and the unique culture of the Khumbu region. This trek involves great chance to communicate with the Sherpa community and explore the ancient history of Chomolungma. DAY 1
Arrival at Kathmandu (1400m)
Altitude: 1400m
Reach Kathmandu. Explore the beautiful lakeside town of Pokhara. Meet up with other team mates and overnight stay.
DAY 2
Kathmandu(1,350m) to Surkhe (2,290m)
Drive Distance: 305km | Drive Duration: 12-15 hours | Altitude: 2,290m
This is the classic road to reach the trail of EBC. We need to take an early morning jeep from Kathmandu to reach Surkhe. If road conditions are all good, then we will be there on the same day. Few parts of the road are very harsh, so get ready for a off road adventure. We will be staying in a warm and cozy Teahouse in Surkhe.
DAY 3
Surkhe (2,290m) to Phakding (2,610m)
Trek Distance: 8km | Trek Duration: 5-6 hours | Altitude: 2,610m
Morning light drips gently through the terraced hills of Surkhe, a quiet village wrapped in the fragrance of pine and damp earth. The path rises steadily, weaving among stone houses and fields where prayer flags flutter like soft-spoken storytellers.
Far below, the river murmurs its ancient tales.
By midday, you merge onto the main Everest trail—where painted mani stones and fluttering flags usher you toward Phakding, resting peacefully by the rushing Dudh Koshi.
DAY 4
Phakding (2,610 m) to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)
Trek Distance: 12km | Trek Duration: 8 hours | Altitude: 3,440m
You walk beside a river that churns white as cloud-milk. Steel suspension bridges swing above its roar like gateways to higher worlds.
After entering Sagarmatha National Park, the trail narrows and steepens, demanding patience and breath. The final ascent—an unending series of stone steps—tests resolve.
At last, Namche Bazaar appears: a crescent of colorful roofs carved into the mountainside, vibrant and alive.
DAY 5
Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
Trek Distance: 2.5km | Trek Duration: 1-1.5 hours | Altitude: 3,440m
This is a day for slow walking and slower breathing. You climb toward Everest View Hotel (3,880 m) where the world widens. Ama Dablam rises like a silver flame, and Everest peeks from behind the shoulders of neighboring giants.
Namche waits below—half marketplace, half mountain sanctum.
DAY 6
Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,860m)
Trek Distance: 9km | Trek Duration: 6-7 hours | Altitude: 3,860m
The trail undulates like a balcony overlooking distant snow peaks. Pines thin, and the scent of rhododendron mingles with cool, high winds.
A long descent to the river is followed by a relentless climb to Tengboche, where the monastery stands serene atop its hill. Monks chant softly behind wooden doors, their voices drifting across the valley like threads of incense.
DAY 7
Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m)
Trek Distance: 10km | Trek Duration: 7 hours | Altitude: 4,410m
The trail dips through forests to Debuche and crosses the river by a humming suspension bridge. Beyond Pangboche, the land widens, turning raw and open.
Dingboche emerges—stone-walled fields guarded by towering peaks, a village suspended between earth and sky.
DAY 8
Acclimatization Day in Dingboche
Trek Distance: 9km | Trek Duration: 5-6 hours | Altitude: 1,760m
Today we try to climb the ridge toward Nangkartsang Peak (5,083m)as an optional hike. Each step thins the air, but broadens the horizon: Makalu glows distant and cold; Ama Dablam towers like a polished blade.
Returning to Dingboche feels like returning to calm
DAY 9
Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940m)
Trek Distance: 9km | Trek Duration: 7 hours | Altitude: 4,940m
The trail grows barren—stones scattered like relics from an ancient world. At Thukla Pass, memorial cairns honor climbers lost to the mountain.
The wind speaks here in a solemn tongue.
Beyond the pass, the path settles gently into Lobuche, a cluster of lodges wedged beneath glacial giants.
DAY 10
Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,164m) → Everest Base Camp (5,364m) to Gorak Shep
Trek Distance: 10km (4/3/3km) | Trek Duration: 10-11 hours | Altitude: 4,940m
You walk alongside the groaning Khumbu Glacier, its icy spine shifting like a slow, ancient creature. Gorak Shep sits on a barren shelf of sand and gravel.
After tea, you press on to Everest Base Camp—a kingdom of rock, ice, and fluttering flags.
The summit hides behind walls of glacier, but you feel its presence: immense, unseen, sovereign.
You return to Gorak Shep as evening drapes the valley.
DAY 11
Kala Patthar (5,545m) Sunrise to Pheriche (4,371m)
Trek Distance: 20km (6/14km)| Trek Duration: 10 hours | Altitude: 4,370m
In the cold dawn, you climb to Kala Patthar, where Everest reveals itself in full magnificence. Sunlight spills over its summit like liquid gold.
Descending through Lobuche and the wide windswept plains, you reach Pheriche, a quiet village cradled in open meadows.
DAY 12
Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
Trek Distance: 20km | Trek Duration: 8 hours | Altitude: 3,440m
The air warms as you descend through familiar valleys. Forests return, thick and vibrant. The bridges sway once more beneath your boots.
Namche’s cluster of teahouses glows in the dusk, a welcoming embrace after days in high, harsh lands.
DAY 13
Namche to Surkhe (2,290m)
Trek Distance: 20km | Trek Duration: 8 hours | Altitude: 2,290m
Leaving Namche at dawn feels like stepping out of a high mountain amphitheatre, the peaks still watching as you descend. The trail winds through pine forests scented with earth and resin, with Ama Dablam and Thamserku appearing and disappearing like guardians of the valley. After passing Monjo and Jorsalle, where the crowd thins and the sound of the Dudh Koshi becomes your constant companion. The a final curve of the hillside brings you to Surkhe, where Lukla’s sky-bound trail meets the earthbound path.
DAY 14
Surkhe to Kathmandu (1,400m)
Drive Distance: 305km | Drive Duration: 12-15 hours | Altitude: 1,400m
Once you board the jeep, the journey feels like a slow unraveling of altitude. Hours pass through terraced hillsides, deep river valleys, and winding cliffs where every turn reveals another layer of Nepal’s countryside—schools on ridges, children waving, prayer flags fluttering lazily above rooftops. As the road smoothens and the valleys widen, the distant mountains dissolve into the horizon. The chaos of Kathmandu begins as a distant rumble—growing louder until suddenly you are inside it: horns, colours, crowds, temples, and dust all merging into the vibrant pulse of the city.
