Mardi Himal Trek

4,500m

20,450 INR

The Mardi Himal Trek is one of Nepal's most scenic and lesser-traveled trekking routes in the Annapurna region. Known for its breathtaking views, cultural richness, and relatively short duration, it has gained popularity among trekkers seeking a quieter and more intimate experience compared to the busier Annapurna Base Camp or Everest Base Camp treks.

Mardi Himal Base Camp is situated at an altitude of 4,500 meters (14,763 feet).

The trek starts from Kande or Phedi (accessible from Pokhara). The duration of the Mardi Himal Base Camp trek can vary, but it usually takes around 4-7 days, depending on the specific route taken and the trekker's pace.

This trek typivally offers astonishing views of the mountain ranges covered with snow like Annapurna I (8,091m/ 26538 ft), Annapurna South (7,219 m / 23,680 ft), Machhapuchre (6,997 meters / 22,950 ft), and Gangapurna Himal (7,454m / 24,450 ft) and of course Mardi Himal(5,587-metre / 18,328 ft).

The trek takes you through lush rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, and rugged high-altitude terrain along with fast-flowing Seti river and Lwang waterfalls. This trail is less crowded compared to other treks in the Annapurna region, providing a serene and peaceful experience. Major stops along the way include Low Camp, Forest Camp, High camp before reaching Mardi Himal Base Camp.

Best Time to Trek is in Spring (March–May) and Autumn (September–November) season.

Trekkers are required to obtain the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and the Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) card before starting the trek.

There are tea houses and lodges along the trekking route that provide accommodation and meals. Trekkers get an opportunity to pass through traditional Gurung and Magar villages, offering insights into the local culture, lifestyle, and hospitality. However, The trek involves ascending and descending trails, and some sections can be steep. Altitude-related issues can affect some trekkers, so acclimatization is crucial.

Before embarking on the Mardi Himal Trek, it's important to be well-prepared, physically fit, and equipped with the necessary gear. Always check for the latest information on permits and trail conditions.
